ABOUT WENDY WELLS

Wendy Wells, a Family Nurse Practitioner* with 33 years experience in family practice and women’s health, owns a private women’s hormone consulting practice in Roseville since 2002 called Optimal Women’s Wellness.  Wendy is dedicated to offering women personalized solutions to feel and look better, using hormones that are identical to those produced by our bodies, rather than synthetic hormones which tend to cause more side effects and long term risks.  Recommendations range from dietary changes, vitamin and herb supplements, hormone building blocks to prescription strength natural hormones.  Wendy can prescribe natural estrogen, progesterone and testosterone in personalized custom doses through a compounding pharmacy that blends hormones into creams and gels that can be absorbed through the skin, or sublingual drops.

Wendy believes that restoring declining hormones offers prevention and/or delay of chronic diseases as well as providing anti-aging benefits.   Women who have discovered the benefits of hormone therapy claim to feel more energetic and have a more positive outlook on life, as well as other benefits (see Balance).  Understanding the signals your body is sending you empowers you to manage your own health and hormone balance now for a healthier, happier future.

What is a Nurse Practitioner? (N.P.)

Nurse Practitioners are R.N.’s who have advanced in the nursing profession, usually obtaining a Master’s Degree in Nursing.  This two year training beyond the four year nursing degree includes extensive clinical training to practice in a variety of clinical settings, often without direct supervision by a physician. Wendy’s training and experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner allows her to evaluate a wide range of health issues, order and interpret diagnostic tests, make assessments and diagnose conditions.  A special State license allows N.P.’s to prescribe a wide range of prescription medications available. Nurse Practitioners in California can operate a private practice in collaboration with a physician.
